Investment Banking is famously hard to break into, and the term itself is associated with a lot of misconceptions. From the outside, its hard to gauge what really is going on inside an investment bank - or how to go about working at one.
To give her insider perspective on the sector, PPLE alum Thaïs Ayuso Deshmukh, who entered the prestigous UBS Graduate Talent Program shortly after finishing PPLE, will come back to Amsterdam to speak on the topic and her personal experience at a internationally recognized, top investment bank!
She currently works at UBS London in Rates Sales and undertakes a Master's in Finance at Cambridge University.

UBS is a leading global financial services firm headquartered in Zurich and Basel, Switzerland. Following its 2023 acquisition of Credit Suisse, it has solidified its position as the world’s largest wealth manager and operates as a "bulge bracket" investment bank with a presence in all major financial hubs.
Rates Sales acts as a professional matchmaker, connecting big investors like pension funds to the bank's vast supply of financial products. Instead of selling stocks, these experts help clients buy and sell protections against changing interest rates, such as government bonds or "swaps" that lock in a specific rate. Because interest rates are influenced by world news, the team spends their day explaining how global events, like a shift in government policy, will affect their clients' money.
